UrbanGrowth NSW today confirmed that a subsidiary of Greenland Australia Investment Pty Ltd has been awarded the tender for two superlots at Lachlan’s Line, near North Ryde station, at the gateway to the Macquarie Park employment corridor.
The mixed use superlots are central to the new development, and have potential for more than 800 apartments and a neighbourhood retail precinct.
“UrbanGrowth NSW congratulates Greenland on their vision for the Lachlan’s Line mixed use precinct,” said UrbanGrowth NSW Chief Executive, David Pitchford.
“Greenland’s design incorporated high quality urban spaces connected with parks, and activated by retail and community facilities.”
Greenland Australia is the developer behind Greenland Centre Sydney, a $600m apartment and boutique hotel project on the former Water Board headquarters site in Sydney.
“Greenland is committed to building something truly spectacular and of first-class standard for Macquarie Park that will transform the site into a vibrant and active mixed-use precinct,” said Sherwood Luo, Managing Director of Greenland Australia.
“Greenland looks forward to working hand-in-hand with UrbanGrowth NSW to realise their vision and create something special for the residents and its community.”
UrbanGrowth NSW will be coordinating the delivery of the planning, civil infrastructure, and public amenity for the new community including the parks, roads, public art and a pedestrian and cycleway ‘Helix’ bridge which will link Lachlan’s Line to North Ryde train station.
UrbanGrowth NSW started a two-stage sale process in November 2014 to select a preferred tenderer to purchase and develop the future mixed-use precinct at Lachlan’s Line.
Proceeds from the sale will be largely reinvested into new urban transformation projects which will drive Sydney’s global competitiveness.
The tender campaign was managed by CBRE and Matrix Property on behalf of UrbanGrowth NSW. The tender process closed on 28 July 2015.
