Over 1,500 people ventured out over two nights last weekend to enjoy the Lights Up Festival at Lachlan’s Line and get a first look at the development’s new facilities.
Featuring food trucks, a lighting display, live music, professional skating displays, and family activities, the masterplanned community in North Ryde blossomed in a wonderful display of colour, light and community vibrancy.
The festival showcased some of the great community facilities that will be available at Lachlan’s Line, including Central Park with its imaginative and bespoke children’s playground, public artwork, high specification skate park, community garden, enclosed dog park and rehabilitated riparian zone.
“The Lights Up Festival gave people a taste of what will be on offer within the precinct in the future and showed off the sorts of facilities and communities that we are known for delivering,” said UrbanGrowth NSW Head of Western Sydney Projects, Matthew Beggs.
“The feedback from the attendees and local community at the festival was overwhelmingly positive.

The first public art at Lachlan’s Line, Fioririe In Bloom, created by local artist Justin Sayarath, was lit- up as part of the festival. A celebration of youthfulness and play, the artwork represents the exuberant growth of community spirit that was in abundance at the Lights Up Festival.
Development partner Greenland Australia applauded the Lights Up Festival celebration and the vibrant new community already emerging around Lachlan’s Line.

When the mixed-use precinct is completed, there will be an outdoor dining area overlooking the village green, and Central Park will be linked to the retail precinct via an open plaza and walkway. UrbanGrowth NSW is working with City of Ryde to open the parks to the public.
Residents are expected to start moving into Lachlan’s Line in late 2018. While some of the community facilities will be available for locals to enjoy over the next 12 to 18 months, the site remains largely closed for now as construction on the apartment buildings and footbridge are completed.
