About the home

Located at Panorama at North Wilton, this demonstration home will be an interactive experience open to all. The public is invited to visit and learn how to incorporate sustainable choices in their homes – whether they’re building a new home or upgrading their current home.

Panorama will deliver a thriving community of 5,600 new homes over the next 20 years.

  • Choosing the features seen in this demo home could save homeowners up to $1,700 per year on their energy bills.
  • Features include solar panels, a 10kW battery, an EV charger and energy-efficient appliances. 
  • Built with recycled and low carbon materials including for the concrete slab, benchtops, tiles, lighting and tapware.

More than just a display home, the Panorama net zero home will serve as an interactive learning space for the public, showcasing practical ways to incorporate sustainable design in new and existing homes. Visitors will be able to explore cutting-edge renewable energy solutions, passive design principles, and innovative building materials firsthand.

Panorama is Landcom’s first development to achieve a 6-Star Green Star Community Rating, reflecting world-class sustainability, liveability, and resilience.  

  • The community is designed to enable carbon-neutral living, reducing emissions while promoting sustainable lifestyles. 
  • North Wilton is an all electric community, focusing on renewable energy and water efficiency.

  • Energy-efficient design: 7.92kW solar PV system, electric heat pump, mechanical ventilation, airtight insulation, and high-performance double-glazed windows.
  • Sustainable materials: low VOC paints, benchtops and tapware made of recycled materials, and low-carbon concrete. 
  • Climate resilience: weather-protective membranes, storm-resistant roofing, and thermal insulation to regulate temperature naturally. 
  • Water conservation: recycled water irrigation and permeable pavements to reduce runoff.  

    

A blueprint for future sustainable homes

The Panorama Net Zero Demonstration Home is a key action in NSW's Net Zero Cities Action Plan. Landcom and McDonald Jones Homes aim to drive industry-wide change by showing how volume homebuilders could deliver sustainability at scale. Preliminary works have begun and the home is expected to be completed in late 2025.
